Eco Finish
Eco Finish – environmentally friendly water and stain resistant finish.
This water and stain resistant finish is applied to the outer fabric of your product so that water pearls up and runs right off – without the use of environmentally harmful fluorocarbons (PFCs). This protects you from the rain and keeps the planet clean. Regular reapplication is necessary for permanent waterproofing and stain resistance.
Organic Cotton
Our "Organic Cotton" label guarantees the use of certified organic cotton. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are taboo, as are GM seeds. Worldwide, 25% of all insecticides and 11% of all pesticides are used for conventional cotton, even though cotton only accounts for 2% of global agricultural areas. Organic cotton helps reduce the use of these poisons.
Hemp
Hemp – hardy commercial hemp for durable products
We extract fibers from the stalk of the plant for the robust fabrics of your high-quality and durable VAUDE product. Hemp is a commercial plant that is robust, hardy and grows quickly. It requires little water and no fertilizers or pesticides, making it a climate-friendly, environmentally-friendly renewable raw material.
Renewable Materials
VAUDE uses renewable vegetable- or animal-based resources in the manufacture of this product. This saves on fossil raw materials.
Biobased TPU
This product includes a biobased plastic containing castor oil. Normally, plastics are made from petroleum. In order to conserve this fossil resource, we went out in search of renewable alternatives. Castor oil grows without supplemental irrigation on poor soil and does not compete with the food chain. From the oil of the castor beans we produce fibers for clothing and plastic components such as zippers, buckles and hooks. They have the same properties of conventional materials — only "greener".

Biobased plastic buckles, which are primarily made from natural castor oil, are also a unique feature. The inner life of this urban companion is just as well organized as it is functional: A 13” laptop has its own padded compartment in the main compartment, pens, phone, keys and small items can be quickly found thanks to the sophisticated organizer and a pullover, A4 documents and books can also be stowed from the top.
